Seth nodded. "Sounds good to me. Um...before I go, can I ask you something?"

"Always." Ben replied.

"...What was Morgan like?" Seth asked. "Or, what was she like to you as someone who knew her a lot better than I or anyone else did?"

Ben smiled and looked down. "Her favorite band was Arctic Monkeys. She's the only person I've even met who liked chicken nuggets more than I do. She was a wonderful dancer but was to nervous to dance around - or with - anyone else. She wore white shoes because they reminded her of her sister. She was really bad at video games but she'd play them with me to humor me. One time she beat me at Mario Kart and I heard about it for weeks. I met her in a coffee shop and immediately made fun of her for drinking a pumpkin spice latte. She wanted a nose ring, the side one, not septum, but was deathly afraid of piercings. She never got her ears pierced. She thought bagels were just sad donuts. When she got sad she would eat ice cream and watch Bob Ross. She called soda 'dirty' caffeine as opposed to coffee which was 'clean.'" Ben turned to look at Seth. While there was no sign of him actually doing it, he looked like a man ready to cry at any moment. "She was pretty cool."

Seeing Ben like that roused old, yet familiar feelings of sadness-- and more guilt. "Yeah," Seth murmured. "She sounds pretty amazing. Thank you." He was silent for a long moment, absorbing or mulling over Ben's words. Then he crumpled his empty chip bag and heaved himself to his feet. "I should leave you be now. If you ever feel like chatting or just hanging out, you know where my room is."

"Thanks." Ben gave a heartfelt one word reply. Thinking too much about Morgan obviously put him in a different mood.

With a brief wave of his hand, Seth left Ben's room, closing the door on his way out.
((I gotta head to bed now, night!))

((Thanks. My hairs at bit of an awkward stage right now, I'm trying to grow out my side shaves so I can dread them too. They're currently at three inches, and I have to wait till they grow out to at least six (might try and push it to five) in order to dread them and put extensions in so they match the length of the rest of my hair.
Also, my dreadlock's first birthday is in a little under two months, and I feel I should do a side by side to show just how far they've come. Of course they'll still have some changing to do still, but even if they just stayed the same as they are now for the rest of forever, though I'd be a bit bumed I wouldn't have any of those crazy thick dreads (They're coming in at the roots now) I'd still be content with my hair.))

((That's exciting to hear that they're thickening at the root! Can't wait to see how they look.
This may be a stupid question, but how are dreads cut or trimmed? Or are they not trimmed?))

((Oh yeah. I've got one really fat dread so far, and the others are catching up fast. Most of them now are as thick or thicker then the extensions I put in at least, though they'res a few lagging behind that I might just end up combining together to make into more substantial dreads. I don't know, I'll give them a little more time before I surgery them together.
One stupid thing that I'm finding annoying though is that the dreads that are right at the part of my head I sleep on most of the time are dreading way faster, and so are becoming way longer, tighter, and not as thick as the dreads I have that are dreading at a slower rate. Nothing I can do about it, it's just an annoyance. Mah.
They kind of don't need to be trimmed very often, because as your hair mattes up it coils up on itself. If you're a person who's hair grows pretty slowly, it might actually look like your hair isn't growing at all, or is even maybe getting a little shorter as your dreads mature. It's refereed to as shrinkage, and it's why dreads get progressively thicker as you go. And, to be honest, a lot of dreadlock people don't cut their hair anyway. But, it can and often is cut. I cut mine a few weeks ago. You just take some scissors and cut it like you would a rope. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Some people go through the added step of also loosening the end to get rid of the blunt tip that's left for a more wispy end, but I couldn't be bothered.
A friend of mine just messaged me saying that I'm going to break the space time continuum if I continue being an art student who lives as a bohemian with dreadlocks, green hair, and burns incense all the time that has somehow never smoked weed.))
