Sally felt her heart leap into her throat at the sound of it. Play dumb?
Yeah, play dumb. Alphan agreed with her plan.
She turned to Finley and listened. "Play along with whatever I say-- I'll handle this." She went and opened the front door.

Now fully awake from whoever just bellowed, Finley nodded.
It had appeared that it had just gotten done raining. Everything was still wet, but the small group of hunters (really only six or seven) appeared dry. They sat astride their horses, though one stocky man was on his own feet and raving at the small, cowering, white and red-eared dog before him. It was Thom. He had a mad, almost crazed look in his eyes.

"You're a member of the wild hunt, aren't you!? If so, you have no business here! For the millionth time, Woden is long gone!"

((I gotta head to bed now. Night Shoni!))
Thom turned to look at Sally. His face contorted his heavy footsteps almost sounded like the night-mares' hooves when they were galloping, in terms of loudness. He seized Sally by the throat with one huge hand. "We are not looking for Woden anymore, little girl," he snarled softly in her face. "We've come here for the traitor and spy, Alphan."

Sally coughed under his choke-hold. She snapped her fingers and summoned a golem that only consisted of a torso and a pare of arms to pry his fingers off of her neck. "Fuck!" She backed away. "I have no idea who that is! Save yourself some time and look elsewhere already!"

"We know he is here!" Thom shouted. "The runt has scented Alphan and he is HERE! If you do not bring him out to us, then we will take him by force!"

"Urh, I promise, if you find a guy named Alphan here, nobody will stop you if you want him."

Thom looked like he was about to say something when a hooded and jacketted hunter interrupted them.
"Thom, hold up." The hooded hunter dismounted his horse and pushed through the others. When he removed his hood, the familiar face of Dave peered at Sally.

Oh shit he had heard her voice. Sally resolved to keep playing dumb, her voice wasn't all that remarkable. It wasn't very easily distinguished by that of other young ladies of her age.

Dave narrowed his eyes at her. "What's your name?"

" . . . Sally."

Dave listened hard when she answered, trying to determine if it was the same he had heard from before. "And you're alive, aren't you," he said quietly, more a statement than a question.

" . . . Huh?" Sally tensed her grow in confusion, though of course, she knew exactly what he meant.

Dave looked at her for a second more, then seized the runty cu sidhe by the scruff. It yelped and struggled against him.
"Come on you!" Dave grunted, overcoming the hound. If it had been a fully sized cu sidhe, Dave wouldn't have stood a chance against its strength. It was small, and weak from getting beat into submission by the supernatural hunters, so Dave managed to drag it up to Sally.
"Smell her and see if you can identify the scent of Alphan on her," Dave ordered.

"Jesus christ! Don't hurt that poor thing!" Sally looked down at the beast and extended a empathetic hand.
